The Largest Property Tax Cut In Texas History!

The Largest Property Tax Cut In Texas History!

Texas has taken a monumental step in historic property tax relief with an unprecedented $18B tax cut.

Lowered school property tax rates, a $100k homestead exemption, a 20% appraisal cap on non-homesteaded properties, franchise tax savings, and the creation of elected positions on local appraisal boards all show our commitment to hardworking property owners and small business entrepreneurs.

The road to this agreement was long but significantly worthwhile. I applaud Lt. Governor Patrick and Speaker Phelan for their successful negotiations and I congratulate my fellow members of the Texas State Legislature for passing this historic legislation, and who understand that this money belongs to our citizens.

Continuing My Commitment to Public Safety

Continuing My Commitment to Public Safety

It’s Opening Day of the 88th Texas Legislature, and I am continuing my commitment to public safety, filing my first Senate Bill – SB 378, which allows the Attorney General to bring suit against district attorneys who willfully disregard Texas law, placing the public at risk. We need to make sure that district attorneys are supporting, and not hindering law enforcement efforts to keep our communities safe.
