Retiring State Rep. Mary Denny Endorses Tan Parker

“Now that we are down to the runoff, there's only one solid conservative with a record of Republican leadership, and that's Tan Parker. Today, I'm proud to offer my wholehearted endorsement of Tan and encourage my supporters to vote for him on April 11. He ran a strong, grass-roots campaign based on reducing property taxes, reforming public education, and standing firm for faith and family. I know we can trust Tan to stay true to his conservative convictions and represent all areas of the district in Austin,” Denny said in making the endorsement.

My opponent's disappointing, negative campaign

It is disappointing to report that, less than 24 hours after the polls closed, my opponent launched a negative campaign.  As one of my key supporters, I am writing to alert you to this development and ask for your help and support.

Late on Wednesday, March 8th, I received a call from a reporter, giving me the opportunity to respond to negative comments from my opponent. In fact, the March 9th story reports of Anne Lakusta: “she immediately launched perhaps the most blunt public criticism of a rival in what has been a genteel campaign.” (Dallas Morning News, 3/9/05)

Welcome

Tan Parker is a conservative businessman and life long Republican activist; he and his wife Beth live in Flower Mound with their two daughters, Lauren and Ashley. Gov. Rick Perry appointed Tan to serve as Chairman of the Texas Industrial Development Corporation, dedicated to creating jobs and strengthening our economy.

Thank you for your support!

As you may know, election night was a very good night for us. Our campaign came in first place with 24% of the vote in a 5-way field, and I am honored and humbled with the results.

We worked hard. Our volunteers walked door to door, we had a strong message, and our fellow Republicans responded. I want to sincerely thank all of you who worked so tirelessly for me.

Our campaign clearly has the momentum. We started this effort only 11-12 weeks ago, when there were already two other candidates who had been in the race for several months. Despite our late start, we built a strong grass-roots organization that led to yesterday's showing.

Last night was a huge step, but not the final step in our efforts to send conservative representation to Austin. We must now work to secure final victory on April 11, and I will be in touch soon on how you can help in that effort. If you would like to help my campaign today, please use this link tell a fellow Denton County voter about my campaign or make a secure online donation.

I want to extend my sincere thanks to Ricky Grunden, Bill Lawrence, and Mike Savoie for the honorable and noble efforts they put forth during their campaign. They are all fine men whom I have enjoyed getting to know on the campaign trail, and I wish them the very best. I also extend congratulations to Anne Lakusta for making the runoff.

Thank you again for the confidence you have placed in me. God Bless You.

Sincerely,
Tan Parker
